Our original business entity was created and began doing business in 1978 under the name of Abstracting Company of Chester County, more commonly known as ABCO of Chester County or ABCO.  

In 1997, ABCO founded a cooperative venture which began operations under the name Countywide Abstract, LTD Partnership.  This enabled the company to establish relationships with multiple underwriters, expanding our ability to service a more diverse customer base in a continually evolving industry.  Ultimately, Countywide Abstract, LTD Partnership became the successor entity of ABCO.  

In the spring of 2010, PA Land Transfer was formed by Countywide Abstract Limited Partnership to enable both entities to provide services from two locations in West Chester and Media, Pennsylvania.
